** The Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) in the governing body that certifies Sterile Processing Technicians. The monitor, regulate and administer the CRCST certification exam. Upon passing your exam you are provisionally certified.

Each CRCST certified technician must complete 400 hours of clinical experience (usually in the form of an externship) in an approved healthcare facility (usually a hospital, surgery center, doctor’s office, etc…). When your hours are completed you will be fully certified. You have 6 months to complete this task.

No training program can guarentee placement, but SwotTrain has a different approach to this than what most programs do. Our main goal is to get you certified so you can immediately begin to interview for career openings. We prefer your first 400 hours of clinical experience come to you as a paid employee rather than an unpaid extern. If you are actively seeking an externship, SwotTrain does provide assistance in helping our students complete this goal.
